Dear Gary,
Happy new year to you and your staff at Burke’s. We were pleased to be home for Christmas 2007, and this is largely due to the excellent work done by Burke’s last year. Thanks so much for working with us through all stages of rebuilding our home after the fire, and for providing an honest and accurate timeline. There were no real surprises, and that in itself was a pleasant surprise.
We appreciate the attention that was paid to our restoration, starting with your first visit on the evening of the fire that damaged our entire home, from attic to basement. Your words of encouragement and support were appreciated at a time that was both shocking and frightening for our family.
From that time on, we felt comfortable with the teams from Burke’s as they worked in our home. All were, without exception, reliable and professional, and their first-rate skills are evident in the final result – we are very happy to be back in our ‘new’ home.
Please give our thanks to Sandra and others in the ‘pack-out’ crew, who were always respectful of our belongings, and handled their job (and us) with care and thoughtfulness.
Through months of reconstruction, our site foreman Serge provided exceptional work, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Under his management, we were always kept informed as to progress on the job, and all concerns were quickly dealt with and fully explained. We never doubted that the reconstruction of our house was in good hands, and we cannot emphasize enough how important this relief was to us during a stressful time. Pass our sincere thanks along to Serge and Allan, and commend them on their fine work and sound advice.
We feel fortunate that we had Burke’s on our side during a challenging time, and would not hesitate to recommend your team to others. All the best to you in 2008 and keep up your good work.

Gary, per our conversation yesterday – I just wanted to confirm in writing how delighted Dave and I were with the work performed by your company to repair and ‘restore’ our basement after the flooding we had in April 2007.
Your ‘crew’ did a fabulous job with the basement repair work – we truly cannot tell the difference between the damaged and repaired areas. The quality of the workmanship (which is actually a bit better than the original) was great, the colour matching is perfect and the overall condition of the carpets and baseboards which were cleaned and repaired during the process was excellent.
I would also like to add that they did a great job tidying the area at the end of each day – after having had similar work done in the past I can’t tell you how important this was to us and to once again emphasize how professional and considerate the team was.
We would be more than happy to recommend your company at any time and should we ever need any general contracting ourselves we will be in touch – we will also certainly recommend you to anyone who asks!

Hey Tony… I just wanted to send a quick note to thank-you for all your work over the past 7 months!!! The day I came home in October 2006 to find out I had a flood was probably one of the worst times I have had in my home! Within an hour of calling my insurance you had your team there to remediate any damage that could be taken care of. I couldn’t believe it. 1 HOUR… Once you got there you took control, walked me through my basement and made me aware of everything that you could see and that would need to be done. You were up front, honest and too the point! Not to mention clean-up was done, dehumidifiers were brought in and a negative air fan. You also told me not to worry and that everything would be taken care of.
After the initial clean-up and walk through was done it was in the adjustor’s/insurance hands to advise. This took over 1 month to iron out as my insurance company had another restoration company come and quote on the same job. During this time you kept in contact with me, told me what was going on and never kept me out of the loop. You were helping Lisa and I through a very tough time!
Well it turned out that the other company was chosen over Burke’s, well I didn’t approve and asked to go over the quote with the other company. Well it turned out that this company did not quote what was supposed to be done…i.e. sub floor, drywall, plumbing etc. After I went through this with the adjustor and other company I found this all out and advised that I was concerned! Therefore the adjustor asked that this company re-quote on the job according to building code. Well I’m glad I did that because now the 2 quotes were in line and the choice was now mine to be made…I CHOOSE BURKES!!!
And I’m glad I did! The work Chad and Jim did on our basement is fabulous!! I can’t even put it into words. Every little detail was taken care of. Chad was always there to answer my questions… and if he wasn’t able too Tony would take care of it. Everyone who I dealt with at Burke’s was great and I hope I never have to go through this again but if it does I will be calling your company!

Dear Gary,
My wife and I are very pleased with the work your team of guys has produced in our house. When you first came to do the estimate for the water damage to our family room and upstairs bedroom, you mentioned that you treat every job as if it was your own house. This attitude is very well reflected in the efforts of the men you have working for you.
You were extremely kind in adjusting your schedules to have the guys start the work as soon as the insurance company approved the claim so that at least our family room was livable for Christmas. Also, when we had a family death, your guys were flexible to give us time to cope. When the crunch time came to get the family room finished before Christmas, Allen Derr put in extra hours and on the Friday, you brought in an extra painter and two men to install the hardwood floor.
Allen Derr, who did the majority of the work on our house, is an extremely conscientious, meticulous and hard-working individual. He is a credit to your company, as are the others who applied their skills to our restoration including Glen, Rob, Joseph, Brent, Brad, Billy and Tim. All the guys were very neat and tidy, using drop cloths wherever needed and always cleaning up at the end of the day.

In July of 2006, we experienced a tragedy in our home. In our main floor laundry room, the water hoses from the washing machine burst and flooded our laundry room and most of our finished basement, which was our pride and joy.
On the advice of a family friend, we called Burke’s Restoration for help. Within a day, the owner of the company, Gary Burke was over to our house, had large drying machines brought into our basement and the clean up began.
Gary dealt with the insurance company in the most professional manner, and his work crew was at the house with haste and competency. Each member of the crew, from carpet layer, to painter, to hard wood floor installers, to electricians, were courteous, were respectful of our house, and were quick to get their job done. As Gary said to me, “we treat your house as our house.” At the end of the project, our basement looked better than before.
We couldn’t have been more satisfied with the work done or with the manner with which each person dealt with us. We will highly recommend Burke’s Restoration to anyone who needs renovations or has a tragedy in their house.
